I had to run a few errands this morning and was in the area, so I decided to pop into @anthropologie
to wander around for a bit. It’s one of my favorite places to go when I’m in need of some creative inspiration - I love taking in the window displays, the color palettes, the textures, the artfully arranged wares (I was a visual merchandiser in a past life and majored in retail merchandising in college because that’s the closest I could get to visuals at @ohio.university
; the more you know)...it’s just a good place to start when I’m feeling creatively stuck and my brain needs a little wake-up call. My ultimate dream is to one day (like, for real, and not far from now) create a store or a space or a SOMETHING of my own that people can come to to be inspired in that same way. I think creative inspiration is so, so powerful and important. And to me, “creative inspiration” isn’t just inspiration for people who create things - it’s anything that can make someone feel something, find meaning in something, connect with something, be drawn to make something, to create something, in some way (this could literally mean one million things - a delicious and beautifully plated meal, a love note, a thoughtfully captioned Instagram photo, an expressive outfit, a journal entry, an inspired conversation; I could go on and on and on...). I want people to see and feel that...and not only that, I want to provide a way for people to see and feel that. I don’t know how the hell I’m gonna do that, but I just feel it in my bones, that that’s what I’m meant to do. I guess we’ll see, eh? Where are your favorite places to go or things to do that get you inspired? I wanna know!
