Luck and/or vision?! When we bought on Bedford Ave in Feb 2006, it clearly was by default. It even felt odd to move there I must say. We were VERY far from thinking that what was then artsy / trashy, with 100% small local businesses/retails, would become what it is today, a sort of hipster paradise with the best of both world: from Whole Foods and apple stores to small art and craft stores and super cool restaurants, coffee shops, and bars everywhere! I was afraid it would lose its soul, but the blend of modern glass buildings with old brownstones, parks, retail and fancy hotels, is a total success in my opinion. It used to pretty much be a one-street neighborhood: Bedford ave, with good spots every other blocks...and drug dealing here and there! Now it feels like a cute small town with a European feel to it. It's busy yet quiet, and minutes from Manhattan. Never would we have thought it could be a cool destination where to enjoy a nice few days with no need to go to Manhattan really.
Hopefully the balance will remain as is and that we will not see Chipotles anytime soon! #williamsburg #brooklyn #brooklynrealestate #bedfordave #wework #williamvalehotel
