Did you know planning for off-season programming happens during the season...a little sneak peak of this summer's (do you remember summer? ) programming. More to come.

give him a follow to see videos of him performing both exercises + many more. "Two of my fav curling specific exercises !! The first video is for improving my pull strength when sweeping . This idea was given to me by @empoweredperformance
with an added bird dog twist . The band is pulling your arm anteriorly forcing you to retract and depress your scapula and improving your overall dumbbell row motion . Perform this exercises in a bird dog pose because often in curling while sweeping we need the strength and stability of being on one foot, increasing flute engagement and neutral and even spine in the lumbar region . This will reduce any back strain on people who find their low back is very sore after a game from sweeping especially if the majority is on one side . Keep your chin tucked and your back as neutral as possible . 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁The second exercise was shared with me by @dr.joelseedman_ahp
- a trap bar lunge with a anterior pulling resistance band . Often curlers fall forward and have there weight on the front of the toe in a “collapsed” position , not engaging there quads and adding unnecessary strain on the ankle and knee . This movement is designed to build one legged leg strength and teaches proper quad and flute engagement . By adding the anterior pull of a resistance band you are creating a forward pulling force which will want to put your weight on your toe and not on your heel when you are performing the movement . If you let this happen you’ll fall over. Be sure to stay up tall control the motion have your knee track over your foot and take your time . Push through your heel when standing back up and watch that curling slide feel stronger , safer and smoother . 🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁🍁. If you want to know more about them send me a message , or if you try them out tag me in the video and let me know how they went ! Would love to hear from you guys . #massagetherapy #fitness #fitforlife #lunges #birddog #strong #curling #sweepstakes #exercise #move
