Join YPCoNext this Saturday, for this month workshop, the students attending the YP CoNext workshop will engage in conversation with young professional men and women who are graduates from Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and predominantly white institutes (PWIs). It is imperative that students are exposed to both types of institutions, to help them decide on the college or university that is a good fit for them.
The conversation will be transparent from the Alumni and students will complete the workshop informed with an enhanced perspective of the different types of institution. Additionally, students will participate in a working session for writing personal statements for college admissions.
Limited seats are available.
RSVP now by visiting here: ypconextmarch2018.eventbrite.com
Breakfast refreshments and lunch will be served.
Take two preaching in the High Schools! 🎬 Except this time we tag-teamed.
High schools need Jesus now more than ever. The students need truth! Kids need a REAL and genuine message they can relate to. As Christians it’s our responsibility to be that truth and message, not just at church but to this entire world, especially to students! Take a look around. High school shootings are at an all time high, increasing more than we’d like to admit. It has GOT to stop! 🛑 You have no idea the depravity of some of these kids home life until you actually speak to them. It’s absolutely gut wrenching and heartbreaking! 💔
One student spoke to me after and told me he got goosebumps and felt something he had never felt before. He said he hates home. He hates his parents and his siblings. They make fun of him and he is afraid. BUT he felt “calm” for the first time and accepted the opportunity to receive Jesus as His personal Lord and Savior! He felt something “real” he has never felt before and wants to attend our youth group and church. COME ON! 🙌🏼 This young man now has access to PEACE, HOPE and JOY unspeakable! 💛Regardless of his home life he now is in relationship with the One who accepted him first. 🙏🏼 STEP UP! SPEAK OUT! Show them Jesus and let them know they are LOVED! 💗 Nathan and I have decided it is our life’s mission to preach the gospel message everywhere we go because we can’t risk someone staying in pain or shame any longer than they have to. Will you be the change this world needs? Will you step up and speak truth? After all, you may be the ONLY Jesus they ever meet. 🔥
Sometimes we adults assume that teens truly understand the difference between needs and wants. But that's were we fail them.
One parent shared how she will pay for her teen's needs (healthcare, food, shelter) but the teen pays for her wants (a "newer" backpack, a car, a phone, manicures, hair color, etc.). The more affluent a community a teen lives in, the less they tend to understand the different between needs and wants. This way of thinking has little consequence in high school but can be devastating when teens start to have their own budgets.

If you don't go, and get this free money! ... 42 Scholarships to Apply to Over Spring Break.
To my current and future college students. The price of a college education is growing ALL👏THE👏 TIME👏. People are going to get priced out.
We will see a proliferation of community colleges (which are already packed) and online programs. Many traditional schools are going to shut down. Some will merge with others to stay afloat. Many folks will go to trade schools, whether as part of a college or an outside organization.
DO👏NOT👏SLEEP👏ON👏TRADE SCHOOL!👏 Trade school is the answer for many people. People are sleeping on it, because it's not sexy. You can learn a skill, and make real money, grown money and in many cases faster than you can get a degree.
Many community colleges offer trade programs. I would start looking there. ... Especially before looking at for-profit schools.
Anyway, back to the program.
Some colleges will be bought by companies. In fact, some Chinese companies have already purchased several American schools.
Link to scholarships also in bio. https://goo.gl/G9sLsx
Chill a little during spring break. ... But still get this money, though.
Shout out to @faithecbeauty for passing the link.
If you need any makeup/beauty services or products check her out. ... Super talents and good vibes, known her for years. SoCal based.
Yesterday we started our official recruiting process at Oak Grove High School. The first day we focused on just registering for the NCAA and talking about what they are signing up too. The kids were engaged but were confused on a lot of the registration questions on the NCAA eligibility center. The plan is make it easier to understand for the next group that we register. 📷 by my 5 year old daughter 😊 #athleticcounselor#ncaa#recruiting#sports#highschool#nonprofit

Army Reserves Educational Benefits:
• There’s a separate post on the Army Reserves, but basically it’s the part time option. Individuals only work 2 days per month at a Reserve base (anywhere they want to go to college, for example there are 3 bases just in Orlando). • Reservist going to college full time (can also be used for Cosmetology school, Med school, Law school, etc) will receive the following:
1) $200-$250 per month for their 2 days of work.
2) $360 per month for school expenses.
3) $4,000 per year that goes to the school for tuition.
4) $100 per month for tutoring (optional).
5) $1,000 per school year for books and materials.
This is not including other Army benefits such as medical, dental, life insurance, the VA Home Loan, and so on.
There are A LOT of people who join the Reserves halfway through their degree because their up to their neck in student loans and there are also a sh*t ton who just decide to drop out instead. Not all of us have parents who can help or did Florida Pre-Paid, and that’s fine! Just means that we have to go the extra mile and figure out how to set ourselves up for success.
These benefits, along with financial aid & grants (poll grant) will likely take care of most, if not all, of any degree.
When everyone else graduates with 20-60k in student loans, graduate with 10-20k in your savings :)
