That which we persist in doing becomes easier to do; not that the nature of the thing itself has changed, but that our power to do it has increased.
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Working on that core!
The word ‘yoga’ means to connect, unite or ‘yoke’. The thing we look to connect to is the true Self, also known as the ‘divine essence’, ‘ultimate self’, or atman. You might also think of this as the soul.
If the way of thinking doesn’t resonate with you, then consider that the word yoga can also mean separation or disentanglement. The thing we’re disentangling from is whatever stops us from feeling free, as the ultimate goal of any yoga practice is to attain moksha, meaning liberation or freedom. To attain Moksha, we need to follow and practice the 8 sutras of Yoga.
The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali refers to eight limbs of yoga, each of which offers guidance on how to live a meaningful and purposeful life. By following these 8 sutras, you can attain the ultimate goal of any yoga and that is attaining moksha, meaning liberation or freedom. 🙏
Missing my days in paradise but so loving home.
Since we got back, we have been pampered by snuggles and kisses from our kittybabies. Home really is where your heart is. Don’t live a life you want to escape from; build a life that you can’t wait to come back to.
See you all at @yogalab._ soon! 😘
