What is the International Day of Happiness? It’s a day to be happy, of course! Since 2013, the United Nations has celebrated the International Day of Happiness as a way to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world.
This year's theme is to " Share happiness focusing on the importance of relationships, kindness and helping each other.' We as a team dedicate this day to the children we have come across in our span of growth and progress.

The United Nations has emphasized the need to work on 17 main sustainable Development Goals ( SDGs) with primary focus on the three key areas that lead to happiness and wellbeing which include: -Seek to end poverty -Reduce inequality -Protect our planet
How can all these three key components of SDGs be achieved in relation to happiness and wellbeing?
The International Day of Happiness came to being in 2013.
This day serves to enjoin every global citizen to reassure self , commit and live to create more happiness in the world around you.
The theme for 2018 is "Share Happiness"
with focus on relationships, kindness and helping others.
Are you ready to create the happiness you want to feel?
Be it in your relationships at home, workplace, community and country.
Are you the go to person for your good heart, wisdom or knowledge?

Remember you are awesome, amazing and the best of you as you create and share happiness
In the words of a great man-Desmond Tutu: "Do your little bit of good where you are; it's those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world"

Number 10 of the Global Goals:
“Too much of the world’s wealth is held by a very small group of people. This often leads to financial and social discrimination. In order for nations to flourish, equality and prosperity must be available to everyone - regardless of gender, race, religious beliefs or economic status. When every individual is self sufficient, the entire world prospers.” - UN declaration
"The values of sport help you not only to grow, but also to overcome barriers and achieve what you often think is impossible." Watch @luis__figo in Geneva's #SDGStudio, and join him & other ⚽ legends at the UN + @uefa_official#MatchforSolidarity on 21 April. A Perfect Day is from 2015 and stars Benicio Del Toro and Tim Robbins. The story follows some aid workers in a war torn Bosnia as they try to remove a dead body from a well in a village to avoid contamination and to deliver safe water to the village. Along the way alot of things don't go as planned, the rope that have breaks so they go on a journey looking for rope to get the body out. The UN gets involved and makes it even more difficult for them to remove it. And then there is a end which I shant spoil. Over all i thoroughly enjoyed this film. It was a new take on a war film and focused on a very specific impact of war and specifically a civil war. It was entertaining, funny, and well made. There was one scene in the middle that was really damn good and I'll remember it for a while. Although this movie has it's good side, it does have some negative. Just one. There is some very slow boring sequences that almost took me out of the movie. Luckily there was only about 15 minutes of that. Over all of say this movie is probably not for everyone but certainly worth a watch if your really into movies. I give it a B- #APerfectDay#aperfectday#BenicioDelToro#TimRobbins#warfilm#film#movies#cinema#cinematography#drama#moviesof2015#Bosnia#civilwar#gotem#washingtonstateuniversity#WSU#zuvsmovies#UnitedNations
During the Rusty spoon tour in Bratislava, the government of The Chechen Republic and the president of Kosovo were entwined in a deep conflict. Herr Tumnus, nowadays known for his borderline basslines in bands like Xz!nk and Rusty Spoon, acted as peace negotiator during this conflict. In this video, used by the united nations , Herr Tumnus tried to spread a message of love and brotherhood. It worked.
The International Day of Happiness was introduced by the General Assembly of the United Nations during 2012 and was celebrated for the first time in 2013. Through seminars and educational tips and tools, the aim is to educate and increase public awareness of the benefits of happiness.
The original idea came from the Kingdom of Bhutan in the Himalayan region of Asia. There, the population is thought by many to be among the happiest in the world due to the holistic approach to life and the amount of importance which is placed on the well being of people and communities, as much as material wealth.
For everyone, the day is a useful reminder that in general happiness does not necessarily come from buying and consuming, or from being famous or glamorous – but often from friends, family and emotional well being.
Stay happy. Be Blessed 😇
Since 2013, the #UnitedNations has celebrated the International Day of Happiness as a way to recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world. In 2015, the UN launched the 17 sustainable goals that seek to end poverty, reduce inequality, and protect our planet – three key aspects that lead to well-being and happiness.
One of #CultAWay18's goal is to stress on how important it is to have happiness as the determining factor of the quality of your life. We are asking you to pledge to create and share more happiness into the world as every small contribution is needed to make this world a better place.

Happy International Happiness Day! Yikes we almost forgot! Lucky you’re here @camp_quality 😘. When you think of happiness, what places or stories come to mind for you?
For me, I go to my happy place. 5895m above sea level. The altitude I’ll never forget.
Unlike any other number for me, it smashes together teachings, incredible stories, third world adventure provoked perspective, violent vomiting and altitude sickness and yet insane happiness.
To conquer Kilimanjaro, you’re unavoidably required to keep it simple and keep momentum, daily. Step by step. Camp by camp. Hike. Recharge. Hike.
Like our guide Antipas and Emanuel always said ‘Forget the summit. Go step by step. We will get there. ‘
It’s simple but powerful.
Happiness starts with small steps daily towards the things that bring you joy. It’s about living a life aligned to our values and purpose.
OH Happy Day! Today is the UN International Day of Happiness, which means it’s a day to be happy of course and recognise the importance of happiness in the lives of people around the world. So grab your friends and have a laugh together to share the happiness!
In the 2018 World Happiness Report, Finland ranked as the happiest country 😁
But the report also showed happiness was strong in Latin America explained by the abundance of family warmth and other supportive social relationships. Their evaluation of life is above what the income levels would predict which shows there is more to life than money!
Always make time to nurture your relationships with loved ones and be social, these things are important to your happiness and well-being!
A world where all forms of poverty are a thing of the past! Isn’t that the dream?
We at Montville Coffee, think so and if you do too I would definitely check out the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals!
They are all about improving our current world and paving way for a brighter future for all walks of life 😊❤️

Happy International Happiness Day from @raleigh_tanzania!! I dedicate today to my friend @onesmojoel Mwande who has taught me not to work too hard and to keep perspective on what seems like a huge deal at the time 😊. He also has a smile so big it rivals mine! 😋A la Mahatma Gandhi, “there is more to life than increasing its speed.” Doing what you like is freedom, but liking what you do is happiness, this is my focus this #internationaldayofhappiness . 🇹🇿😊🌅😊🇹🇿
“I am the goal, I am the sustainer, the master, the witness, the abode, the refuge, and the most dear friend. I am the creation and the annihilation. I am the basis of everything, the resting place and the eternal seed. I am the seed-giving father of all living beings.”
Spoken by Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita <3
Today we’re celebrating International Day of Happiness @raleighinternational ! Livelihoods DOM Onesmo Joel (pictured) says “it is everyone’s responsibility to make sure that they bring happiness to he community through involving them directly. HOW TO START CHANGING THE WAY YOU LOOK AT HAPPINESS
World Happiness Day, a concept by the United Nations to increase human happiness and well-being. The team of International Day of Happiness , which is celebrating it on March 20 this year, believes that being happy will help promote economic development and sustainable development, and that is a commendable initiative at global level. This is a great concept in itself, and I really applaud it as a person who writes to make positivity and happiness viral!
However, I firmly believe, living in a country whose happiness ranking in the world was 122 in 2017, that every single person needs to bring change at a personal level. To start with themselves first!
If you can’t find happiness in the little things, you can’t be happy in general. Being the most populated country in the world, it is very crucial to be a content country. I’m no experienced person who has seen everything in the world or been everywhere or lived 60 years; but I do understand and completely agree with the fact that happiness comes from within. I’m joining today with the many writers and influencers who are already trying to inculcate this thought throughout the world!
Being happy is not a hard work but a conscious effort of the mind. It can be as little as making time to do your favourite hobby, or meeting a long lost friend, or a resilient event. To my understanding, the biggest reason to be happy is getting to wake up in the morning. Buster: not everyone gets that!
As cliché as it may sound, you can make or break your life. And staying positive is the key. When you’re positive, you are healthier. Your thoughts are clearer and you are focused. And when so many things are in place, what reason do you have to not be satisfied with your life? Again, I do not deny that things go wrong and there are downs, but every single person faces it. The decider is how you get through it!

Xoxo Annie. 😉
The International Day Of Happiness is celebrated worldwide every March 20. It’s a day to be happy. Since 2013 the United Nations has celebrated this holiday as a way to recognize the importance of happiness in the people all around the world.
What an incredibly inspiring way to start the week! 🌎 Got invited to the @UNWomen event on Gender Parity within the @UnitedNations. Honoured to be a part of the Commission on the Status of Women ( #CSW62), one of their largest events of the year.
Congrats to them achieving gender parity in the UN Management level! They hadn’t been able to achieve that for 72 years, but thanks to strong leadership from SG @AntonioGuterres_un (a self-proclaimed feminist), he did it in just 1 year. This shows that all it takes is someone of power to create the change + move from intention to ACTION.
Bravo! 👏🏼 #explorewithapril#timesup#womensrights#planet5050#unitednations
Happy International Day of Happiness! 😍 In 2012, the General Assembly of the United Nations proclaimed March 20th the International Day of Happiness "recognizing the relevance of happiness and well-being as universal goals [...] It also recognized the need for a more inclusive, equitable and balanced approach to economic growth that promotes sustainable development, poverty eradication, happiness and the well-being of all peoples" 😊🇧🇹🗺️
It was a real pleasure speaking at the United Nations in New York on empowering women and girls in rural communities for the 62nd session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW62). Thank you to Ambassador Carlos Garcia of El Salvador for the opportunity and inspiration. I hope to be invited again ;) #un#unitednations#csw62#csw#empoweringwomen#empoweredwomen#empoweringgirls
