Now this is a rare treat! MUZ, the 100% natural vermouth from the much beloved Massimo and Antonella behind @partidacreus
. Not only are they some of my very favorite winemakers, but they also have a special story, as they initially settled in the Massis de Bonastre in Catalonia on a parcel full of almond and olive trees. Thing is, they found an old abandoned vine in the middle of the property and quickly found that it was from a forgotten indigenous grape, barely grown anymore, and it wasn't long before they embarked on their mission to herald the forgotten grape varieties of Catalonia and start making fantastic natural wines with them.
This vermouth is a blend of all their red varieties (according to @thewinestache
) and includes other local herbs in the making, resulting in one of the freaking best things I drank all year. I'll be back @brutosparis
